This 1 Kg Bar is a a rare bar from one of the most respected private mints in the World.

The Engelhard Corporation was founded by Charles Engelhard in 1902 and grew to become one of the world’s largest precious metal refinery and developing silver alloys for industrial applications.  One of its subsidiaries was the Sheffield Sterling Company. During the inflationary crisis and oil crunch of the 1970s, interest in silver bullion as a form of wealth protection grew in popularity.   However, by the mid 1980s investor interest in precious metals had waned to the point that Engelhard decided to cease extruding silver bars.  Since Engelhard silver bars have not been produced since the mid 1980s they  now rarely come on the market.
